WINE TOURSOur wine tours always include transportation with English - speaking driver for safety and logistical ease. You will be picked up at your villa in the morning in order to arrive at the first winery by 11.30 am. Begin with a stroll through the vines and grounds, then continue on to the cellar to see first hand the transformation from grape to glass - fermentation, maturation, aging - a remarkable synthesis of nature and nurture. The morning culminates with a tasting of the estate’s vintages paired with a delicious lunch of typical Tuscan specialties.You will reach the second winery at approximately 3.30 pm. The second winery, although still adhering to the strict oenological guidelines imposed by law, always differs from the first estate in its style and methods of production. This will enable you to compare the contrasting characteristics of the two wineries, a reflection of the strategy and personality of the vintners. After a tour of the vines, grounds and cellars, you will enjoy a tasting of the estate’s fine vintages together with the wine maker. Your driver will then take you back to the villa, arriving by late afternoon. The choice of the wineries depends on their availability and the distance from your residence.
CHIANTIThe ancient wine region of Chianti is a "must do" for wine lovers. Chianti Classico, the most prestigious sub zone of Chianti production, is located halfway between the breathtaking Tuscan art cities of Florence and Siena. Chianti is an idyllic landscape, a postcard of castles, hilltop villages, and vine-covered valleys. The best wines of Chianti Classico are rich red wines, made with the native Sangiovese grape. Many estates here date back hundreds of years and proudly display evocative, underground wine cellars and elegant tasting rooms.
MONTEPULCIANO & MONTALCINOThis tour concentrates on two hilltop jewels of the vine: Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Brunello, a rich, robust pure Sangiovese, is one of the handfuls of DOCG wines hunted by wine collectors for its depth of flavor and tongue-curling tannins that give it the potential to age for decades. In nearby Montepulciano, the Vino Nobile has been praised by popes and princes alike for centuries for its elegance and “noble” structure.
