From its fantastic location on the highest hill between San Gimignano and Volterra, Montignoso sleeps up to 16 + 4 people in two side by side structures. Surrounded by nine hectares of forest, this charming estate is perfect for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while still being a short drive away from both Siena and Florence.

The Montignoso estate is rich in history – as various city states waged wars for the strategically located properties. At one time Montignoso has belonged to the principalities of Volterra, Pisa and San Gimignano, before falling into the hands of the Florentines with whom it remained until Garabaldi unified Italy in the late 19th century.

The main villa is built in the Florentine style with thick plastered walls and Impruneta terracotta flooring and is furnished with Tuscan antiques.

MAIN VILLA - 2 double bedrooms / 2 bathrooms – sleeps 4 + 2 people

GROUND FLOOR - The ground floor features a large open loggia, an extremely spacious living room with a beautiful fireplace, a large dining room for 20 people with its own fireplace, a large (50 square meter) well equipped kitchen with Carrara marble countertops and storeroom.

FIRST FLOOR - there are two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms with Carrara marble countertops in addition to a study (with a sofa bed which can be converted into an additional bedroom) and a terrace made of Pienza Travertine marble.

SECOND FLOOR - it can be used as either an attic or a small child room.

ANNEX - 6 double bedrooms/ 4 bathrooms – sleeps 12 + 2 people. Next to the main villa is the stone annex structure which houses most of Montignosos guests.

GROUND FLOOR - there is a living room and one double bedroom as well as a full bathroom.

FIRST FLOOR - There is one double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Additionally there are three double bedrooms and one bedroom with bunk beds. These four bedrooms share are serviced by two bathrooms.

OUTDOOR - Montignoso has a large swimming pool measuring 15 by 6.5 meters, and is perfect for diving with a 3.9 meter depth at the deep end. The pool is surrounded by wood deck chairs, and comfortable garden furniture.
