Castellare is a recently renovated (in 2016) 7 bedroom Chianti air conditioned villa oasis of Tuscan charm located in the quaint village of Palazzuolo just outside of Tavarnelle in Chianti, 40 minutes south of the city of Florence and 40 minutes from city of Siena.
Adjacent to the one thousand-year-old church of Sant Bartolomeo this mini-castle presides over beautiful gardens, a lovely swimming pool, acres of olive groves, roses, and herb plants. This charming chianti air conditioned villa is well furnished and combines Tuscan antiques with modern furniture to provide the maximum of comfort and beauty for its guests.
The grounds are gorgeous and beautifully maintained. Castellare was built over four hundred years ago by the Sernigi family, famed for their patronage of many great masters of the Renaissance art movement. About fifty years ago the property was purchased by the Corti family and lovingly restored to its original brilliance using a fusion of Tuscan antiques and modern art to create a minimalist architectural statement.
The warmth of your hosts radiates from the moment you arrive with their complimentary Tuscan welcome dinner and their graceful de facto concierge service. The Cortis, speaking fluent English, are always available to share their encyclopedic knowledge of local shopping gems, activities, and restaurants!
Starting in 2024 adjacent to this chianti air conditioned villa a newly renovated guest house with 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms will be available for rent together with the main villa. The 2 buildings together will be able to sleep a total of 20 people on the premises. The estate is perfect for family vacations and small weddings and retreats.

Castellare sleeps up to 13 people in seven main bedrooms
GROUND FLOOR: large well-equipped kitchen, living room, dining room, two large fireplaces, laundry room with washer and dryer, bathroom, satellite television, and office including internet computer, fax, and landline telephone. There is a small double bedroom with en suite bathroom off the kitchen.
FIRST FLOOR: Five double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and one single bedroom with bathroom.
GUEST HOUSE: Across from the villa is a charming guest house with two bedrooms a small kitchen and a dining room. Not included in the regular rental of Castellare de’Sernigi, the guest house can be added at an additional cost for larger groups.
Castellare de’Sernigi’s outdoor area is gorgeous! Leaving the villa through the beautiful rose and herb garden, one comes to the large, 15-meter by 7-meter, swimming pool, which is surrounded by olive groves. There is a private tennis court 300 meters from the villa.
2024 Prices – Main Villa
- High Season (June – September) – 14,900 Euros per week
- Mid Season (April, May & October) – 12.500 Euros per week
- Low Season (all other times of year) -7,000 Euros per week
- Dec 20th/Jan 6th 2025 – 8500 Euros per week

- High Season (June – September) – 4,000 Euros per week
- Mid Season (April, May & October) – 3.000 Euros per week
- Low Season (all other times of year) -2,000 Euros per week
INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
Price includes daily maid service two hours a day (except Sundays and festivities), a welcome dinner, and the cost of air conditioning Castellare de’Sernigi rents exclusively on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday
NOT INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL PRICE
- Heating per usage (as per meter reading) to be paid at departure
- Tourist tax of 1.50 Euros per person per night
- Wedding Planning Fee to host a wedding at the villa
