 Hotel Villa Flori
Rich in history and scandal the brilliant four star Hotel Villa Flori is located on Lake Como. The hotel was
originally built to be a wedding present for General Giussepe Garibaldi and his bride the Countess Raimondi in 1860. Their
highly publicized marriage lasted only a few hours - due to some revelations about Mrs. Garibaldi's past. Nearly a hundred
years later the villa was converted into a hotel on the lake between the towns of Como and Cernobbio - not far from the Swiss
border and only forty five minutes from Milan's Malpensa airport. Featuring meticulously restored frescoes and the charm of
a Venetian mansion the Hotel Flori provides excellent service and is a lovely address for those wanting to enjoy the charm
of Lombardy's Lake District.
The hotel's excellent Raimondi reestaurant is situated on the ground floor and offers a menu of Classical Italian cuisine
combined with Lombardi specialties. Villa Flori is located near several golf courses.

Villa Flori has 45 rooms and suites most of which overlook Lake Como. With silk fabrics, and quality linens the rooms
are a bit small but beautifully furnished. TuscanDream particularly recommends the Garibaldi Suite which was built to be
the bedroom for the "Hero of Two Worlds". The bedroom is elegantly furnished with antiques, silk, brocade and velvet and is
perfect for honeymooners. Imagine being able to say you got the honeymoon which Garibaldi never did!
