Splendido has led an interesting history. Originally a monastary, the four story building was attacked with such frequency in the
sixteenth century by pirates that the monks abandoned it to the sheep that roamed the coastal hills. In the nineteenth century,
Baron Bonetta revived the wrecked hotel, converting it into a family summer house, which was in 1901 transformed into the present
day hotel.

colours and delicately decorated. Bathrooms are equipped with heated towel racks and a fine assortment of toiletries.
The hotel's open air restuarant La Terraza offers the very best of fine Itlaian cuisine from its beautiful setting overlooking
the bay. For more relaxed al fresco dining, the Pool Restuarant offers a more relaxed and informal menu. The hotel also boasts
