Hotel Excelsior Vittoria
Located in the center of Sorrento on the cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples,
the five star Grand Hotel Excelsior
has been providing luxury accommodations since 1834 - many years before Italy
was a country. The Grand Excelsior was built on the site where Emperor Augustus
of Rome had his seaside villa. Recently renovated, the hotel provides extrordinary
service and has spacious rooms and is one of the best hotels on the Amalfi coast.
The Excelsior Vitorria is secluded from Sorrento's main square by a grove of
lemon and orange trees. With 98 rooms, including 22 suites, this historic hotel
has comfortable and spacious rooms. Nearly every room has either a terrace
or balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples or the hotel's brilliant gardens.

There are two restaurants including the Vittoria, offering a delicious and somewhat formal seasonal Mediterranean
menu under the guiding hand of chef Vicenzo Glanao. The Bosquet is a more intimate dining experience with breathtaking
views of the Bay of Naples. After dinner on Tuesdays a live orchestra plays romantic music perfect for dancing.
The hotel's gardens and swimming pool are extremely impressive. The pool is in the park, surrounded by olive, orange,
lemon and pine trees. The pool is 25 meters long and features a water massage area and a tidal wave section. Next to the
pool is the new holistic "La Serra" spa offering massages, beauty treatments, Japanese water therapy and relaxation baths.
From the main terrace, a private elevator descends directly to the hotel's pier. From there guests can easily rent a motor
boat for an excursion along the beautiful Amalfi coast or take a trip to Capri, Naples and Ischia.
