Eremo Della Giubiliania
Originally built in the 12th century as a convent, and used by the Knights of Malta during the 15th century as a defensive bastion against Barbary pirates, the five star luxury Eremo Della Giubilliana hotel is located on the Hyblean plateau ten kilometers south of Ragusa. This marvelous hotel has wonderful sea views and on a clear day you can see across the Mediterranean to Malta and the African coast.
The hotel has an excellent restaurant featuring a Mediterranean menu prepared from old family recipies. The hotel's wine
cellar is extensive and located in a medievil vault. The Eremo Della Giubiliana has its own private air strip and planes
can be chartered to the mainland.

This boutique hotel only has 12 rooms and suites. The rooms were converted from the original monks' cells and are a bit on
the small side, but guests should not be alarmed. The rooms have all the best amenities and are decorated with exceptional
Sicialian antiques. TuscanDream particularly recommends the Suite Grande which holds four people in two rooms on two levels,
and the Suite della Torre built on the lower and oldest part of the 15th Century watchtower. In 2007 Eremo Della Giubiliani
will be opening up five of the original stone cottages which surround the hotel - which promise to be spectacular.
