 Cour des Loges
Lyons produces perhaps the finest cuisine in France, and now also features one of the finest hotels, the five star Cour des Loges Cour des Loges is situated in Old Lyon comprising the largest Renaissance quarter in France. The area's most intriguing feature is its traboules - secret covered walkways creating a labyrinthe network between the streets. Dating back to the Renaissance, these passageways were crucial escape routes during both the French Revolution and for the French Resistance during World War II. The Cour des Loges occupies several interconnected houses dating from the 14th to the 17th centuries. The hotel is close to the hub of the city's life, shopping and main cultural attractions
The hotel offers 62 beautifully furnished rooms, including 10 suites and apartments. Most rooms face the gardens, the square or a large sunny lobby. The size and configuration of the rooms vary, but all are lavishly decorated, some have fireplaces and beamed ceilings and each has a large immaculate tiled bathroom, most with bath tub and shower.
The hotel restaurant presents a contemporary decor where the product is the most important. The Bar is a very pleasant lounge with selected drinks served by highly qualified staff. Next to the bar, "Le Fumoir" is a cozy smoking room with a piano offering exceptional tasting of prestigious whiskies and cigars. You can access the vaulted wine cellars from the ground floor of the hotel. The Chapter Room features antique church pews, adding to the overall ambiance in the setting used for lectures and tasting sessions given by qualified wine specialists.
