But the advantage of Tuscany was that we went there for a week and a lot of our friends joined for the entire time. Carolina came up with a system whereby people could book into the villa where we were getting married for a week, 4 nights or stay in the local hotel for less than that. We didn’t think we would need the hotel but it is amazing how many people will jump at the chance of a Tuscan holiday tied into your wedding. We got double the number than we originally planned for, not that this was ever an issue for Carolina and she just evolved our plans as the numbers grew. The advantage for us is that we got to see people for more than just one day and, believe me, your wedding day is the quickest day of your life.
The Italian culture is very last minute and it is hard to get concrete bookings for services far in advance but Carolina had everyone and everything turn up on-time and perform their job perfectly. Without her there is no possible way we would have got everything together, let alone made it so successful. We were upfront with her from the start about our budget and she worked within that. Anytime an expense occurred which would change our final figure she always ok’ed it with me before going ahead. We had planned on making two or three trips down to see the venue and work through all of that but due to some family illnesses we needed to fly elsewhere, so Carolina managed everything for us. She would take photos of options and send them along and talk us through the different ways we could go on things.
I work every day on new advertising and different creative things but it would be fair to say that the end product that Carolina put together was way above and beyond anything I could have imagined.
