Castiglione della Pescaia - Elba Island (doable in one day).
Navigation time 2 hours and 20 minutes each way, from Castiglione to the first spot in Elba.
One day trip: Leaving Castiglione della Pescaia, we head towards Punta Ripalti, where we can stop for a first
dive, either in Punta Ripalti itself, or a bit more west in Punta Calamita. This area, due to the presence of pyrite,
is particularly difficult to navigate because we cannot use the compass. There is also the opportunity to visit the pyrite
mine. After the first visit we can keep going towards Porto Azzurro, where it is possible to visit the village, and the jail
houses in a 17th century castle. After this stop we continue North up to Rio Marina, an old, well preserved, village. Then
back to Castiglione Via Sparviero Island, (in front of Punta Ala) and Palmaiola. Price: $1500.
Two day trip: We can make the same itinerary as the one day trip, but have more time to enjoy the village
visits, as well as, for several dives. Price: $ 3000.
Three day trip: The three day trip brings us to visit the island cruising West instead of East. Leaving
Castiglione, we head toward Punta Ripalti, and make our first stop. We continue West to Marina di Campo. We can stop in
Punta Calamita for diving or for a visit to the pyrite mines. The tract of coast between Punta Ripalti and the village of
Marina di Campo is very famous for the beauty of the untouched nature. After a visit to Marina di Campo we cruise West to
Punta Fetovaia and then circumnavigate the island, visiting Marciana Marina, Golfo Procchi and the other villages.
Price $ 4500.
Four day trip: This four day trip we cover the same itinerary as the three day, but also visit Capraia Island.
Capraia is very famous for the transparency of its water due to the fact it is so far out at sea. It really is an untouched
paradise for divers. Over night in port or bay. Price: $ 6500.
